Jerome, ID Flock Contract

Canceled

No source names who approved this contract yet. Contracts that arrive through procurement or a purchasing threshold often leave no vote to record.

KIVI reported on August 10, 2026 that the Jerome City Council had voted the prior week to remove 14,000 dollars set aside for Flock cameras from the city's 2027 budget, citing privacy concerns. Jerome Police Chief Duane Rubink said the city entered into a contract with Flock Safety for 2026, that the cameras had not been installed, and that the department did have access to the plate reader network. Rubink said the department would regroup and see whether the council would look at it again next year. The report gives no vote tally, contract amount, camera count or term.

What happens next

This decision already happened in public; the record and its sources are above. If the community revisits the question, that decision would follow the same public process: a noticed meeting, public comment, and a recorded outcome, all through official channels.
