The University of Georgia reported on September 11, 2026 that the University of Georgia Police Department disciplined an information technology employee for unauthorized use of Flock, and described Flock automated license plate readers as part of campus security. Police Chief Jeff Clark said the behavior was a clear violation of department policy on misuse of a law enforcement database. Dan Silk, associate vice president for public safety, is also named. The Red and Black reported the same action on September 11, 2026. Neither document gives a camera count, a dollar figure, a contract date or a retention period.
