The Suwannee County Sheriff's Office shut down all Flock cameras in Suwannee County, including cameras off state-maintained roads, the county attorney told the Suwannee County Board of County Commissioners on September 1, 2026. Riverbend News reported on September 8, 2026 that the cameras the sheriff's office installed were turned off immediately and permanently and would be removed soon. WCJB reported on September 1, 2026 that the sheriff's office confirmed it was discontinuing use of all license plate reader cameras after the FDOT order. That order followed a directive from Gov. Ron DeSantis to remove plate reader cameras from state roadways within 30 days. No document found names who approved the Flock cameras, when, or at what cost. The camera count, the funding, the contract term and any written notice to Flock Safety are not stated in the documents found.
