No source names who approved this contract yet. Contracts that arrive through procurement or a purchasing threshold often leave no vote to record.

The Pembroke Pines Police Department announced on September 2, 2026 that it was suspending all of its license plate reader programs, including Flock cameras. The shutdown followed a memo from the Florida Department of Transportation, signed by chief operating officer Will Watts, that revoked existing permits for local police license plate reader systems on state roads and gave agencies 30 days to remove installed equipment. The Miami Herald reported the department ran more than 60 automated license plate reader cameras and had spent more than 300,000 dollars on the program, so the camera count shown is that reported floor. The Ocala Gazette dated the FDOT memo August 31, 2026, while the Miami Herald placed it on Monday, August 26; August 31 was the Monday of that week, so August 31 is used. No city commission vote appears in the sources, and the police department itself announced the suspension. Mayors from Miami Beach, Aventura and Sunny Isles asked the state to pause enforcement and to add privacy rules instead. The sources do not state the contract term, the payment schedule, or any retention, audit, portal or data sharing condition.
