Panama City Beach, FL Flock Contract

Who approved this?

No source names who approved this contract. That gap is common where a purchase cleared without a council vote.

Panama City Beach police had used Flock cameras since 2020 and had 39 in service as of late June 2026, according to WALA Fox 10. Police Chief J.R. Talamantez said then that the system was a tool to help investigators work crimes and that it was not used for traffic enforcement. WJHG listed the department on September 1, 2026 among Panhandle agencies opting out of automated license plate readers, after the Florida Department of Transportation revoked permits for the devices on state road rights of way. Neither report gives a contract amount, a term length, a start date or a funding account. The city's published resolution list covering January 2024 through early 2026 contains no resolution naming Flock Safety or license plate readers.

Use suspended

Camera use is suspended. The contract itself has not been reported terminated.
