Approved on the consent agenda, without discussion, by Margate City Commission on August 31, 2022.
The Margate City Commission passed a resolution on August 31, 2022 that waived bidding for the sole source purchase of an automatic license plate recognition and vehicle fingerprint camera system from Flock Group, Inc. The resolution caps the purchase at $48,400 and lists a recurring annual cost of $43,500. The city's legislative file, ID 2022-323, lists the item as a consent resolution on the August 31, 2022 regular commission agenda; it was introduced on July 13, 2022. A GovTech copy of a South Florida Sun-Sentinel story dated September 24, 2026 listed Margate among cities whose license plate cameras were affected by the Florida Department of Transportation order on state roads. That story does not name the vendor for Margate, and no document found shows the Flock contract ended. No document found gives the camera count, the term, the funding line or the vote tally.
