The Liberty County Sheriff's Office will discontinue the use of its Flock cameras, citing constitutional and privacy concerns, WJHG reported on August 31, 2026. Sheriff Robert 'Dusty' Arnold shared the decision to cease all use of the cameras on Facebook, WFSU reported on September 1, 2026. The office said stopping their use is best until the courts give clear constitutional guidance. Deputies put trash bags over the cameras on the morning of Tuesday, September 1, 2026, and Arnold told WJHG he had already been ready to end it because of community concern. No document found names the approving body, the approval date, the contract amount, the camera count or the funding source.
