Canceled
Who approved this?
No source names who approved this contract. That gap is common where a purchase cleared without a council vote.
The Florida Department of Transportation revoked all state road plate reader permits on August 31, 2026 and gave agencies 30 days to clear the equipment. Indian Harbour Beach police are taking down the 3 automated license plate readers the city had placed in state road rights of way. Central Florida Public Media reported that the department is keeping its separate Flock security cameras at city parks, which do not read plates and sit outside the state order. The removal puts the city among a group of small Brevard County agencies that acted within a day of the memorandum, alongside Rockledge, Melbourne and Cocoa Beach. No contract amount, term or approval record for the Indian Harbour Beach agreement appears in any public document reviewed. The city council does not appear in any record as having voted on the original purchase.
