The Holmes County Sheriff's Office had 4 Flock cameras operating in the county when it announced their removal, WFSU reported on September 1, 2026. WFSU tied the decision to state transportation policy changes that followed Gov. Ron DeSantis' announcement that Flock cameras along state highways would be removed. WTVY reported the same day that the office will discontinue the use of the 4 cameras. The office's statement said some residents view plate reader technology as intrusive. No document found names the approving body, the approval date, the contract amount, the term or the funding source.
