The Calhoun County Sheriff's Office will not use or access any of the 6 state-funded Flock cameras in the county, WJHG reported on August 31, 2026. The state owns and maintains the cameras and controls their operation and removal. WFSU reported on September 1, 2026 that the cameras will stay up because the state is responsible for removing them. The office said its decision to discontinue use of the Flock system reflects a commitment to transparency and accountability.
