WFSB reported on May 28, 2026 that the Ridgefield Police Department runs 6 Flock cameras placed on the main routes into and out of town, with exact locations withheld. Search records covered March 2025 through March 26, 2026, and the most common entries were test, investigation and BOLO. Out of state agencies must sign an agreement to follow Connecticut law before they can reach Ridgefield data, and federal agencies are barred outright. Immigration related searches ran through January 2026 and are now prohibited. The police department page on ridgefieldct.gov confirms the town uses Flock Safety technology and links to a public usage portal, but posts no camera count, price, term or approval record. No contract, order form, budget line, approving body, approval date or vote was found for Ridgefield.
