WFSB reported on May 28, 2026 that the Bristol Police Department ran 13 Flock cameras, listed locations on Farmington Avenue, Stevens Street and Terryville Avenue, and audited use monthly, with 10 detection inquiries logged in the April 2026 audit. The Bristol Edition reported on August 14, 2026 that the count stood at 14 cameras and that the city was canceling its Flock contract and moving to Axon. The 2 counts differ; the count of 14 is used because The Bristol Edition figure is the later one and came from the police department at a City Council meeting. Police Chief Mark Morello told the council that data is deleted after 21 days unless tied to an active investigation, that no data leaves Connecticut, that vendors cannot reach or resell it, and that misuse would bring termination and possible criminal charges. Morello also said license plate readers directly led to arrests in about 40 to 50 cases. Mayor Ellen Zoppo-Sassu and City Councilors Peter Kelly and Sue Tyler took part in the August 2026 discussion, which drew resident objections on privacy grounds. No contract document, dollar figure, cancellation vote tally or termination date was found.
