WTNH reported on November 5, 2025 that the Berlin Police Department runs a dozen Flock cameras at a cost of 36,000 dollars a year, with Deputy Chief Drew Gallupe saying the cameras photograph plates and do not run them against personal information. WFSB reported on May 28, 2026 that the 12 cameras went live in July 2025. Department policy bars sharing with immigration enforcement and bars searches tied to reproductive care. All sworn officers and dispatchers are trained on the system, 2 staff serve as system administrators, and audits are run monthly and reported to the Police Commission. The department publishes a Flock usage portal, which its own police page on berlinct.gov links to. No contract, order form, council or commission vote, term length or funding line was found, so no approving body or approval date is given. The 36,000 dollar figure is the annual cost as stated by the department to WTNH, not a figure taken from a signed agreement. This is Berlin in Hartford County, Connecticut.
