Sheriff Ross Teeple told the Board of Supervisors in early August 2026 that his office would not renew its Flock Safety contract, which expires September 29, 2026. He cited Fourth Amendment concerns. On August 12, 2026 the board voted 4 to 1 to issue a 180 day termination notice on Flock's right of way agreement, with Supervisor Stephen Miller casting the only no vote. Vice Chairman Jeff Serdy requested that agenda item and questioned who can reach the collected data, saying it is not elected people and not even sworn officers. The board first approved a Flock right of way agreement in August 2022 as a trial and extended it in September 2024 for five more years, through September 5, 2029. Neither source states the contract dollar amount, the camera count or the funding source. The decision covers unincorporated Pinal County only, and Casa Grande runs 93 cameras under a separate agreement.
