The NEA Report placed the Mayflower police decision on August 10, 2026 and said the department called the technology intrusive in nature when it suspended use. KATV reported that on August 27, 2026 Mayflower police announced they would remove every Flock camera in the city, and that two sat inside city limits. The city said it would not take part in any form of mass surveillance. The NEA Report listed a contract expiration of September 2027 without naming a day, so no end date is given. The Arkansas Advocate reported on August 19, 2026 that Mayflower was among at least six Arkansas cities ending Flock contracts since the end of July 2026, and described Mayflower as one of the first in the state to physically remove its cameras. No city council vote, vote tally, contract amount or term length is documented, and the deciding official is identified only as the police department.
