Canceled
Who approved this?
Approved by Centerton City Council.
The Centerton City Council voted unanimously on August 11, 2026 to end the city contract with Flock Safety, according to the NEA Report. Council members cited privacy, cost, how much the system was actually used, and limited support from the vendor. The Arkansas Advocate reported on August 19, 2026 that Centerton was one of at least six Arkansas cities that let Flock contracts expire or ended them early since the end of July 2026. KATV separately listed Centerton among Arkansas cities that stopped using the cameras. No vote tally with member names, camera count, contract amount, term length or termination effective date appears in any of these sources. Centerton posts council minutes as PDFs on its city website, but the August 11, 2026 minutes were not published there as of September 8, 2026. Both outlets are Arkansas newsrooms covering Arkansas municipalities, which separates this Centerton from places of the same name elsewhere.
