Hanceville, AL Flock Contract

Canceled

Who approved this?

No source names who approved this contract. That gap is common where a purchase cleared without a council vote.

Hanceville ran 4 Flock Safety cameras at the Alabama Highway 91 and U.S. Highway 31 intersection at a cost of about $850 a month. The City Council adopted Ordinance No. 2026-2 on February 12, 2026, abolishing the Hanceville Police Department, eliminating all positions and shifting law enforcement authority to the Cullman County Sheriff's Office. Mayor Nolan Bradford signed a letter on April 1, 2026 authorizing transfer of the cameras to the sheriff. Flock Safety executed the contract amendment on April 17, 2026, and the recurring cost of about $12,000 a year moved to the county. The Cullman Tribune obtained these records through a request, and the council vote count on the dissolution ordinance was not stated. The city no longer holds a Flock contract in its own name.
